Brian Reid Lessing | Actuary
As a distinguished actuary for several decades, Brian Lessing has built a successful career in measuring and managing risk and uncertainty. Since 2012, Mr. Lessing has worked as a Senior Director and Actuary. He has previously held the position of Vice President and Actuary of Equitable Financial Life Insurance Company. Mr. Lessing started working at Equitable Financial in 1984 as an actuarial assistant and worked his way up through the years to the vice president position.
In 1976, Mr. Lessing graduated from Princeton University and continued his education at New York University. In 1979, he received a Master of Science from the institution. From there he ventured into the actuarial field, which he quickly climbed to prominence among his peers. Supplementing his everyday career, Mr. Lessing has also taught courses for various institutions to help prepare emerging financial professionals as well as students pursuing other disciplines. He has taught at the New York Institute of Technology, Pace University, The College of Insurance and the New York University Tandon School of Engineering.
In 2013, Mr. Lessing was a finalist for the company's Innovation Award.
